In studio (Titans)

In this work the artist wanted to show a movement of bodies in a variety of actions.

The picture is named «In studio». And that is what it shows. The painter sits in his studio creating a picture of “The Fight of the Titans with Olympic Gods”. A lion rests at his feet. Lion happens to be the artist’s zodiac sign, and it is also his favourite animal. Graceful in movement, it embodies both strength, and beauty.

The artist paints a scene from Ancient Greek myths.TheTitans wanted to overthrow the Olympic gods.

But gods are immortal, and the outcome is predetermined. The figure of the goddess of victory Nike crowns the composition. She appears at the upper part of the picture . From the centre down appears a scattered arrangement of bodies, for intensity. Below Nike is Zeus with his fiery arrows. The calmness of the gods contrasts the chaotic movement of the titans. All characters relevant to the action are brought together. There is the multi-headed guardian of the Underworld, the hound Cerberus, the horses of Ares, the god of war, also Pan, the God of Nature and the Wild on a donkey, the screams of which paralyze the titans, the Medusa, and all 12 Olympic gods.
