Vision of the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre

oil on canvas 120 x 170 cm (48 x 68 in.) 1998
The St. Bartholomew's day massacre is a name of the mass murder of Protestants Catholics at night 24th of August, 1572 in Paris. This moment is presented in the form of mysticism, that on ideas of the artist gives the big intensity to occuring event. The composition is held with a figure of the author laying in crazy dream on pillows and seeing this nightmare. Colour of a picture is disturbing. In weak light of torches ransacking murderers - Catholics in searches of the victims - huguenots are written. It is the subject plan. The art plan is opened by colour of a picture and the plastic decision. In the top right corner an ominous mystical figure of the Catholic priest blessing this massacre. Below on a balcony inspirers of slaughter Catherine De Medici and her son Charles IX.
