For Designers & Hospitality

A studio behind the artwork you specify.

Murals, portraits, and large-scale commissions built in Brooklyn, installed on your deadline. Painter Ilya has been the quiet painting partner of interior designers, hospitality groups, and corporate art consultants since 2011.

Request a Commission

A working partner, not a solo artist

We speak the language of the specifier.

Drawings, finish schedules, on-site install coordination, and lead times that respect the GC’s critical path. Painter Ilya Studio works the way your project team works — with concept boards, material samples, signed approvals, and a single point of contact from discovery through the final walk-through.

Over forty interior design firms already treat the studio as a go-to partner for portrait and mural work. We’ve delivered commissions to collectors in fourteen countries, painted live on-site for clients including Hermès, Bvlgari, and Soho House, and shipped large-format work to four continents without missing a hotel soft-open.

Scope Templates

Three project typologies your team can spec today.

Each template is a working scope — adjust scale, medium, and lead time to your project. Custom briefs welcome; nothing is off-the-shelf.

Ilya is the rare painter who treats the specifier as a collaborator rather than a customer. The studio worked from our elevations, sent sample swatches before deposit, and the install landed two days ahead of the hotel’s soft opening. Three projects in, the work has never been late and the finish has never needed a touch-up.

Trade questions

What designers and procurement leads ask before the brief.

If your question isn’t below, the studio answers every inquiry personally within one business day.

What are your typical lead times from deposit to delivery?

Standard commissions run 8–14 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on scale and complexity. Hospitality murals are usually scheduled 12–16 weeks out, and we maintain a small reserve of calendar slots for time-sensitive openings. We will not commit a delivery date we cannot keep.

Can the studio work from our architect’s drawings and finish schedule?

Yes. Send elevations, RCPs, finish schedules, and lighting intent and the studio will scale, sight-line, and specify the work against your documents. We work in both imperial and metric and are comfortable with AutoCAD, PDF mark-ups, and printed sample sets.

How do you handle NDA, confidentiality, and high-profile principals?

An NDA is standard on every executive portrait and corporate program. Studio visits for principals are scheduled privately, documentation is delivered only to the design lead, and no project imagery is published without written consent. We do not name clients publicly without that consent on file.

How does trade pricing and net-terms work for design firms?

Every commission is scoped individually against the brief, scale, and material specification; we do not publish a price list. For accredited design firms we offer net-30 terms on the balance, transparent studio cost breakdowns for your client, and a trade margin that respects the designer’s specification role. A detailed proposal is prepared after the discovery call.

Do you coordinate international install across states or countries?

Yes. The studio has shipped and installed work for collectors in fourteen countries. We partner with fine-art craters and white-glove handlers, manage customs paperwork, and provide an on-site install supervisor where the project warrants it. Climate-controlled transit is standard for every piece.
